The Scenes Competition is another acting event only at the WV State Thespian Festival.  Students are adjudicated on just their acting skills as they compete with a cutting of a play.  No production elements are provided or considered in the adjudication of this event and only two scenes from each school are allowed.  In addition, this event may serve as a means to select two schools to represent high school theatre at the West Virginia Arts Alive! which is sponsored by the WV Department of Education!
